The first David Lloyd Funeral provider was established in 1885 and the proud tradition of service continues today. We now have four locations around Newcastle, each serving their communities with the utmost professionalism, respect and care.
Our funeral arrangers are here to gently guide you through the planning of a funeral service, often a very emotional time. We are there to help you and to give you the time you need.

David Lloyd Funerals understands that each life is different and we are committed to enabling each service we arrange to celebrate a loved one’s life in the most appropriate way.

History
1885: David Lloyd.
- David Lloyd, a cabinet maker, insurance agent and Mayor of Mereweather, started David Lloyd Funerals.
1889 - 1955: David Lewis Lloyd.

David Lewis Lloyd moved the business to Adamstown after WWI as well as opening a branch and chapel at Mayfield.

David became Mayor of Adamstown and an Alderman of the Greater Newcastle Council.

Through his service to the area and family connections through his wife, Vera Lloyd (nee Kilgour), David Lloyd Funerals provided funeral services to many of the areas dignotaries including Mayors, Aldermen and others.
1924 - 2003: Doulas Kilgour Lloyd.

Saw active service in WW2 in the Air force.

Took over the business after his father and brother passed away.

During his management David Lloyd Funerals provided funeral services to all Novacastrians including the area's Jewish, Greek, Serbian and Italian communities.
